Arêches-Beaufort
#1 – Via ferrata Roc du Vent
The Roc du Vent via ferrata is accessible to everyone and offers a dazzling panorama of the Roselend and Gittaz dams, the Vanoise, Grand Paradis and Mont Blanc.
After climbing and flirting with vertigo, a Beaufort tasting break is well deserved!
- 45-minute approach walk
- 4 to 5 hour loop
- Rocky terrain, steep paths and climbing
- The cable and rungs make it easy to climb to the Roc du Vent at 2326 m
- The descent is punctuated by canyons, ridges, a Nepalese bridge, a tunnel and a chimney…
Aussois
#2 – Via ferrata Le Diable
Try out the longest via ferrata in the world! Opening onto a wide cirque, this 3730m loop stretches between Fort Victor-Emmanuel and the Marie-Thérèse redoubt, facing the Vanoise National Park.
You can link the 7 sections together, or discover them one by one.
- Total duration: 8am to 12pm for all 7 sections.
Chamrousse
#3 – Via ferrata Lacs Robert
With its monkey bridge, footbridges and aerial passages, this via ferrata is well worth the diversions for its magnificent panoramic view over the Robert lakes.
- Accessible by cable car (20 mins) or by the Casserousse piste (2 hours from Chamrousse 1650).
- The itinerary is of a progressive level, crossing walls, interspersed with crossings on ledges and inclined slabs leading to a footbridge.
- Duration: 1h30-2h
Villard de Lans
#4 – Via ferrata 3 pucelles
Abseiling, climbing, crossing rocky ridges and a zip line with a great atmosphere! This via ferrata is a real head turner! It’s accessible to beginners via a “spicy” traverse, or to climbers who have already mastered the more challenging routes. As a bonus, there’s a breathtaking view of the whole of the Alps, from the Dévoluy massif to Mont Blanc!

Le Grand Bornand
#5 – Via ferrata La Tour du Jalouvre
This via ferrata is 1100m long and has a D to D+ difficulty rating. Its atmosphere is both aerial and mineral. You cross a 16m footbridge, then a half footbridge over a larch trunk before climbing a large ridge. For those less comfortable, the via can be interrupted by the “Sortie à Fred” (Fred’s exit), which takes you over a convenient ledge and then a short descent on rungs.

- Via Ferrata summit altitude: 2000 m
- Total time: 5 to 6 h (ascent + descent)

La Colmiane
#6 – Via ferrata Le Baus de la Frema
A cross between climbing and hiking, this via ferrata in the heart of the Mercantour Park offers a wild, alpine mountain route, equipped with cables, ramps and aerial rungs. Different levels of difficulty depending on the section of the circuit.

Le Mont-Dore
#7 – Via ferrata Le Capucin
The first public via ferrata in the Puy de Dôme department, the Capucin takes place in a wild setting on a cliff with a magnificent view over the whole of the Haute Dordogne valley and the summit of the Puy de Sancy. With a very moderate level of difficulty, it’s the perfect way to discover this activity with family or friends.

From Font-Romeu
#8 – Via Ferrata de Llo
The Via Ferrata de Llo on the Escaldilles site (the warm waters) are mountain adventure courses, suitable for all levels of experience: discovery, family, advanced and sports. Three possible routes:
- Llisses del Mouli: Distance 300 m / Difference in height 59 m – Level F – Easy, children > 5 years – From 40 mn to 1h15
- Llisses de Llo: Distance 800 m / Difference in altitude 259 m – Level AD – Quite Difficult, children > 12 years – From 2h30 to 3h00
- Llisses Dretes : Distance 800 m / Ascent 259 m – Level D+ – Upper Difficult, children > 14 years) – From 2h30 to 3h00
Val d’Isère
#9 – Via ferrata Roc de Tovière
Aerial, impressive and challenging, this via ferrata has no shortage of adjectives to describe its fabulous route. It’s sure to delight adrenaline junkies and challenge those in search of vertigo, particularly with the impressive passage of a slab overhanging a 40m footbridge.
- Start: behind the Résidences de la Daille.
- Level: 1st part (beginners) / 2nd part (fairly difficult).
- Round trip time: 1st part 1h30-2h (beginner level) / 2nd part 2h30 to 3h30 (fairly difficult level).
The Dévoluy
#10 – The via souterrata
For a unique via ferrata experience, head to the Dévoluy! At the heart of a 300m-long secure cave, you’ll progress using rungs and small steps, before crossing a monkey bridge and a footbridge.
