The Flocon Vert label is a recognised certification for mountain areas committed to sustainable development. By obtaining this label, resorts undertake to respect criteria that ensure the preservation of their territory. Thanks to this initiative, you can choose a destination that combines the pleasure of an outdoor holiday with respect for the environment!
What is the Green Snowflake label?
Created in 2011 by the Mountain Riders association for environmental education in the mountains, the Flocon Vert label is designed to recognise and guarantee the sustainable commitment of mountain tourist destinations.
How are resorts awarded the label?
A resort with the Flocon Vert label is one that is fully committed to a sustainable approach!
The people involved in the resort (the Town Hall, ski lifts and Tourist Office) are brought together for workshops, led by Mountain Riders, to present the label, the methodology to be adopted and, above all, to mobilise them.
Following this, a shared diagnosis and an independent audit (external to the association) are carried out to provide the certification committee with all the necessary information to enable it to decide whether or not to award the label.
More than just certification, this is a genuine long-term commitment between the resort and the label.
