A nice double win for the resort of Les Saisies at this summer’s Tour de France! For the first time, the Savoyard resort of Les Saisies will be the finish line for both the Tour de France and the amateur Étape du Tour.

En résumé

2 events, 1 route: Starting in Cluses, the cyclists will cross the finish line at the Col des Saisies, at an elevation of 1,650 meters. To get there, they’ll have to tackle the Bisanne climb, classified as hors catégorie (1,723 m above sea level, 12.4 km at an 8.2% gradient), which riders have already conquered during the 2016 and 2018 editions of the Tour de France. Although the Tour de France has passed through Les Saisies 14 times, it has never stopped there… until this upcoming 114th edition. “The entire resort is thrilled to host these two flagship events. The Tour de France is the third-most-watched sporting event in the world, right behind the Summer Olympics and the FIFA World Cup! This promises to be a day of celebration both on the roads and in the resort, with the world’s best cyclists and thousands of spectators expected for this must-see stage on July 14,” says Raphaël Barnasson, director of the Les Saisies Tourist Office. For Les Saisies, this double appearance on the Tour de France is also an opportunity to showcase its particularly spectacular cycling terrain: legendary mountain passes (Col des Saisies, Cormet de Roselend, Col du Pré…), the landscapes of the Beaufortain region facing Mont Blanc, and challenging climbs… all in a resort that has made cycling one of the highlights of its summer offerings. Whether on roads, trails, tracks, or in the forest, cycling is truly all the rage here! So mark your calendars: - July 11 for the amateur “Étape du Tour,” which will welcome up to 17,000 cyclists from around the world! - July 14 for the finish of the day’s stage of the Tour de France, this time featuring the pro cyclists!
