For the less adventurous, don’t worry: a powerful braking system allows you to modulate your speed. This attraction is guaranteed to be safe from the age of 3. As the sleds are two-seater, children under 1.25 metres tall can ride accompanied by an adult.

The added bonus of this sledge is that you can do the descent… at night! Just what you need to add even more thrills.

Montgenèvre

#6 – Monty Express

Accessed by the Chalvet gondola, this 4-season toboggan run inaugurated on 4 July 2010 is the longest in France, with a 1400 metre run and a 275 metre vertical drop. The route is particularly varied. It starts in an open meadow, before plunging into the forest where it winds through the trees, before returning to open ground at the end of the descent.

You’ll also cross several wooden footbridges – each of which precedes a break in the slope – and even pass under two tunnels on the final section.

With a total length of almost 1,200 metres – including the lift up, with no need to get off your sledge – this double-rail run offers all the necessary safety guarantees. But it’s all about the thrills, with speeds of over 30km/h at ground level giving an impressive sense of speed.

Dévale sledging can be done alone or in pairs, and is open to children aged 3 and over (accompanied by an adult). Open every day until 6 April 2024!

This 710-metre-long 4-season sled, with a breathtaking view over Lac de Serre-Ponçon, is dotted with six hairpin bends, three wave zones, three 360-degree spins (unique in France) and two “jumps”, even though the wheels never leave the rails. It’s a thrill for young and old alike, with a ride that lasts at least two and a half minutes, or a little longer if you pull harder on the brakes.

#9 – Super Coaster

The 4-season “Super Coaster” luge is the new feature not to be missed at Super Besse!

La Bresse

#10 – Schlitte Mountain

This trail is built on the path once used by foresters to sledge down the woods. Schlitte Mountain has little in common with the sledges of yesteryear. With its headrest and safety belts – for driver and passenger – it’s more akin to the bucket seat of a racing car.

While the 14 banked bends and other waves along the 700-metre descent promise a good adrenalin rush, there’s no risk of going off the track, as the summer sled sits on aluminium rails. An automatic stop system is also installed at the finish.

Jura Mountains

#11 – 4-season sledging

With an average gradient of 12%, peaking at 37% on the steepest sections, and a 540-degree spin: the Monts Jura summer toboggan run (955 metres long and 410 metres vertical drop), located on the Col de la Faucille, will leave you breathless! With its series of curves, it almost looks like a bobsleigh run. There’s just one detail: if you make a steering error, it won’t be fatal, as the sled sits on rails and steers itself. You can, however, control the speed by pushing the handle to accelerate or pulling it towards you to brake.

At Le Lioran

#12 – Déval’luge

In the Massif Central, a safe toboggan run on rails through the forest will make the hearts of young and old beat faster. There’s a 400-metre run for children aged 5 and over, giving them the chance to discover their first gliding sensations!

#13 – Tricky Track

The smallest of the resort’s 4-season sleds, this 1.1km track is covered securely in your summer sled.

After the ascent, towed by the system, the descent follows a series of bends, twists and tunnels… as close as possible to the cyclists/skiers, depending on the season. Quite vertical, the gradient can be as steep as 35% at an average speed of 40 km/h. It’s going to be a hair-raising ride in the Vosges!
