Pink October

Events in the resort for a good cause

The All Saints’ holidays run through part of October, which is marked by the national “Pink October” campaign. A month dedicated to breast cancer prevention and screening. The resorts are committed to this cause and are organising charity events in conjunction with the pink month:

Les Contamines-Montjoie, Haute-Savoie:

Every year, the resort of Les Contamines-Montjoie takes part in the annual Pink October campaign, a day to raise women’s awareness of breast cancer screening in aid of the Comité Féminin pour le dépistage du Cancer des Savoie (CFDCS 74). The Tourist Office and Les Contamines-Montjoie Town Hall are joining forces with this national event by offering a day of activities open to all. Well-being activities, a creative workshop and the Relais Rose relay are just some of the activities on offer, enabling participants of all ages to show their support for a cause that is helping to save the lives of so many women with breast cancer. All proceeds from the event will go to the Comité Féminin pour le Dépistage du Cancer des Savoie (CFDCS 74).

Orcières-Merlette, Southern Alps:

On Wednesday 22 October, the pass is reserved (in partnership with the Hautes-Alpes cancer league), to raise funds as part of the “octobre rose” operation (a race organised throughout France against breast cancer). The Orcières cycling club and local shopkeepers are also taking part.
