The Family Plus Label
Choose a resort with the Famille Plus label
Resorts with the Famille Plus label are a guarantee of quality for parents! They meet strict conditions when it comes to welcoming families. In particular, they have specially adapted establishments to make your stay easier. The accommodation provides childcare equipment free of charge: cot, high chair, changing table, beds for all ages, pushchairs for hire and bottle warmers. There’s no need to bring all your stuff or overload your car. Family Plus resorts take care of everything!
The approved resorts also provide all the facilities you’ll need on site: nurseries, restaurants and children’s parks. These facilities include pushchair access, baby changing areas and child-friendly public toilets.
Finally, all resorts are required to have a medical service and pharmacy nearby.
Don’t forget your child-minding service if you want to ski with peace of mind!
Day nurseries look after your children from the age of 18 months to 6 years. They offer a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities and welcome your little ones for the day or half-day (morning or afternoon), with or without a meal. It is possible to combine skiing in the morning at the snow garden with childcare in the afternoon to give your child a chance to have a siesta. Remember to book before you leave to ensure you have space during your stay.
Put your little one on his first skis
From the age of 3, your children can learn to ski under the watchful eye of the ESF instructor at Club Piou-Piou. Mini-teleskis, conveyor belts, modelled slopes, inflatables, snow castles and colourful mascots are all there for the young ones to learn while having fun, and in safety.
Choose a ski + nursery package so that your children can ski and play indoors. The slopes are yours for the day, while your baby enjoys the pleasures of the mountains in complete safety.
Not keen on skiing at the moment? Let’s go downhill with a shovel and sledge! Don’t hesitate to ask at the tourist office in your holiday destination about all the snow activities suitable for the little ones.
Try out activities that will amaze baby
Whether it’s a one-to-one encounter with animals, a pushchair ride or discovering the snow, the mountains provide the ideal conditions for developing the curiosity and imagination of your little ones. A number of activities are suitable for the very young:
- Toboggan run: Fancy a slide in the snow? Head for the toboggan run reserved for the under-6s! Whether you’re in Les 2 Alpes, Morzine or Valberg, there’s no risk of your baby being pushed around by the older children.
- Babysnow : From the age of 1, babies can discover miniature snowboards. Fitted with fixed handlebars, children can try out the pleasures of the snow, pushed by an adult on skis!
- Meet the animals: While you’re in the mountains, take your little one to meet the animals: sled dogs or horses with skijoring, they’ll love it!
- Indoors: For a moment in the warmth, head for the library as in Font Romeu, the games library, the games room or the swimming pool with paddling pool (Le Corbier, Vaujany).
- Entertainment & shows: Don’t forget to check out the entertainment and shows programme. Often adapted to suit all ages, these are the rhythm of life in the resorts throughout the season: from puppet shows to storytelling, the resorts are full of inventiveness to delight the youngest visitors.
Take advantage of special rates for families
The resorts that have been awarded the Famille Plus label all have a preferential family pricing policy to ensure that their offers are tailored to families with children. These include
- Free ski lift passes for under 5s
- Free cross-country runs for children up to 6 years old
- Family packs from accommodation providers offering free breakfasts for children, free accommodation for children under 2, etc.
- Children’s rates up to the age of 12 at most of the resort’s Famille Plus-labelled service providers (many also accept holiday vouchers).
