What's new in the Famille Plus resorts this winter!

In the French mountains, over 40 resorts have been awarded the demanding “Famille Plus” label for their facilities and activities adapted for the very young. Every winter, these resorts are ready to welcome parents and children for a stress-free mountain holiday that’s just right for them! Every winter there’s something new to discover in resorts with the Famille Plus label. Find out more in this article and choose where to spend your next family holiday.

La Rosière

New this winter at La Rosière: become a Youtuber for a week!

Go behind the scenes of video creation and learn how to film, edit and share like a pro. Supervised by an image professional and a presenter, participants will have all the necessary equipment at their disposal: camera, computer, editing software, etc.

The adventure begins on Sunday with the handover of the equipment at the Tourist Office, continues on Tuesday with a progress report, and finishes on Thursday and Friday with the final editing. The souvenir video can then be shared on the resort’s social networks!

 

The activity, which is free of charge (a deposit is required for the loan of equipment), is offered throughout the winter season to around fifty families each week. Bookings at the Tourist Office. Get your cameras ready!

 

Les Karellis

Discover the new podcast “Les Amis de Karl”: the voice of the mountains for little ones!

Meet Karamel, the historic mascot, and a merry band of new animal characters with all-new visuals, in a series of original stories written especially for children by a children’s author.

From December to April, a new adventure will be published each month, accompanied by music suitable for younger listeners. The podcast is available free of charge on the major streaming platforms (Spotify, Deezer, YouTube).

You’ll also find Karamel and his friends on posters in the resorts, so follow the social networks or ask theTourist Office for advice on how to immerse yourself in the world of “Karl’s Friends”. And to extend the experience, the characters are also present in a number of games and activities to be discovered on site.

 

Vaujany

Eterlou Parc: a new play cocoon for toddlers in Vaujany!

This indoor play area, specially designed for children aged 1 to 5, offers fun and motor skills activities in a warm and friendly setting that’s different from a nursery. Children can play independently, at their own pace, for as long as they like. An activity leader is on hand to welcome and support families. Access is free every Tuesday and Thursday from 10am to 12pm, right next to the media library and museum. It’s the perfect place for families with young children to relax and bond!

 

Another new feature at Vaujany: the first gentle slide with the ESF!

Specially designed for toddlers aged 3 and over, this 30-minute individual session offers a safe first introduction to skiing. In a small, calm and reassuring space away from the group lessons, children take their first steps on the snow, accompanied by an ESF instructor. The aim is to awaken their curiosity, develop their confidence and give them their first taste of skiing, all while having fun. This gentle, personalised introduction takes place in the ESF kindergarten, and costs €39 per session. It’s a great way to start your skiing adventure with confidence!

 

Le Grand-Bornand

The biggest organ in Haute-Savoie full of… hits!

Every Thursday during the season, the organ in the church at Le Grand-Bornand, the largest instrument of its kind in Haute-Savoie with its 11 tonnes, 40 stops and 3,500 pipes, the creation of organ builder Michel Giroud who worked on it from 1986 to 1988, reveals its secrets – starting with the need to add four pillars to the gallery to support such a monument! – in a fascinating demonstration accompanied by organist Sébastien Dupont. A performance designed especially for children aged 6 and over, with a score featuring their favourite hits! Find out more here.

 

Aussois

New Family Skiing event in Aussois: from 7 to 14 February 2026. Unique skiing events on the ski area and in the village. A friendly, festive atmosphere for all levels and abilities, so you can discover Aussois while having fun and enjoying yourself!

 

Val d’Isère

In partnership with Famille Plus, ANMSM and Pass Education Val d’Isère is offering personalised holiday notebooks for three class levels. Visit the Tourist Office for more information!

 

Alpe d’Huez

An off-sac room located at the arrival of the Pic Blanc cable car (first section): 100m2 with a kitchenette (microwave), eating area + seats, terrace with view, family-friendly toilets…

 

Tignes

  • Après-ski mode: the Aventure Park for everyone

Inaugurated this summer in Val Claret, the Aventure Park is now available in a winter version. Its 10-metre-high wooden structure offers two adapted courses and three high-flying zip lines.

The “Parcours Filet” is accessible from a very young age, without the need for a harness, and allows you to walk, climb and jump on a network of nets suspended in the trees. It offers a gentle approach to nature for budding adventurers. The longest course, meanwhile, is reserved for the most daring and thrill-seekers (min 1m30), with three impressive zip lines between 60 and 150 metres long.

  • Lavachet double carpet

Replacing the old Lavachet ski lift, two carpets make it easy to take young and old up to a dedicated beginners’ area. Free of charge.

 

Villard de Lans

Activ Park

Bam Freesports, the current trampoline hall, is changing its name. From September, it will be called Activ Park. The principle of trampolines/foam traps will remain the same, but new gym/motor skills/sports games activities will gradually be added.

There will also be more opening slots for children.

Isola 2000

Isoù, the resort’s new mascot, has arrived with a brand new programme of activities for children!

Inspired by the historic logo, Isoù will be the hero of fun and original activities throughout the season. Highlights include Isoù’s Cluedo, a fun investigation to help him find his lost toboggan, Isoù’s toboggan race (organised once a week during the holidays) and the “Learn to snowplough with Isoù” workshop, for a gentle introduction to skiing, all in good fun.

Also new on theIsola 2000 snow front: the opening of ISOULAND, an area entirely dedicated to the little ones, with toboggan, igloo and snowball walls, from 6 December at the start of the pistes. It’s a colourful, friendly world, just like this endearing new mascot!

Immerse yourself in a sensory and interactive experience based around the mountains. Touch, listen and watch as objects to manipulate, sounds from the past and immersive images take you on a journey to the land of the mountains.

It’s a fun way for everyone to discover :

Life in the mountains in the past, with its customs and traditions. From fireside evenings to surprising dishes, did you know? From its origins in Norway to the Val d’Allos, the history of skiing over the centuries. But will you be able to put the pair together? Fauna and flora in winter: can you find the real sounds of nature?

Besse Super Besse

Fantasy Luge: a sensational 3km descent for all the family and friends!

Suitable for children aged 6 and over (accompanied by an adult up to the age of 12), this activity can be enjoyed solo from the age of 13. The descent takes place at half-night, when the pistes close, on a red run, supervised by the instructors. A magical atmosphere is guaranteed, with a breathtaking view of the resort, the valley and the illuminated lake… and even an appearance from Tibou, the mascot, who joins in the fun!

This activity is available every day during the school holidays and at weekends. Price: €14 including cable car ride and helmet. Tickets go on sale at 3pm at the cable car station, subject to the day’s weather conditions.

 

Le Mont-Dore

Fatbike: a 4-season mountain bike adventure!

With its wide, low-inflated tyres, the fatbike can be ridden anywhere, summer or winter. Accessible from the age of 12 (as long as you know how to ride a bike), this activity, supervised by qualified MCF instructors, is available in several formats: the Capucin mountain via the cable car, a ride at the foot of the Sancy or a route at altitude, depending on the weather and the level of the group.

Outings last a minimum of 2 hours and cost €40, including equipment hire, protection and supervision. For total immersion, a 3-day package is also available, with full board and the chance to explore the volcanic landscapes of the Auvergne!

Create your own cuddly toy in Gérardmer!

Opened at the end of 2024, the Fabrique à Peluches, in Gérardmer town centre, lets you adopt a cuddly toy and bring it to life in 7 stages.

It’s a fun workshop for young and old, open all year round, 7 days a week. And it’s unique in France!

The 7 steps:

  • I adopt my friend. I choose the (lifeless) teddy bear shell from a wide selection: cat, dog, bear, unicorn, teddy bear, panda…
  • I bring it to life by inserting a little heart
  • I make a wish
  • I give it shape and cut the umbilical cord
  • I give him a bath and/or dress him up
  • I create his birth certificate
  • I go for a walk and put him in his lovely rucksack.
