But in these round, accessible mountains, sport also has pride of place. It’s hardly surprising that the greatest champions were born in the Jura Mountains, in an area where everyone is born with skis on their feet, snowshoes never far away and sledges under their arm.
You can switch from one activity to another, from Nordic to Alpine, without a moment’s hesitation, thanks to 3,000 Nordic ski runs, 230 snowshoe walking routes, 13 sites with the Nordic France label and 3 Alpine ski resorts.
