The departement is home to 4 distinct mountain ranges, each offering magnificent and varied backdrops for discovering the mountains: Belledonne, Chartreuse, Vercors and Oisans. With 120 mountain communities spread across these massifs and 21 ski resorts, as well as 26 Nordic areas, Isère is resolutely mountain-oriented, with its highest point at 3,600 metres.

Isère is also a land of gastronomy, with a host of famous flavours: walnuts, Saint-Marcellin, Bleu du Vercors, ravioles and tourte iséroise. A real culinary experience awaits you!
