For several years now, France Montagnes and the Ecole du Ski Français have been teaming up to take part in the emblematic stages of the Critérium du Dauphiné and the Tour de France. A peloton of around thirty ESF instructors is formed, and they will ride part of the chosen mountain stage, under the same conditions and on the same route as the professionals.

A few minutes before the official race, don't hesitate to cheer on the ESF instructors as they climb the pass! Here's where you'll find them this year:

Critérium du Dauphiné: Sunday 9 June 2024

It's on the final stage of the Critérium du Dauphiné that the Peloton France Montagnes x ESF will set off to tackle the Col des Glières. The instructors will climb from the Col to the final finish of the stage, on the exceptional Plateau des Glières, a major site of the Resistance during the Second World War.

Situated at an altitude of over 1400 metres, this unspoilt natural setting is easily accessible from Annecy or La Roche sur Foron.

So, on Sunday 9 June, you can cheer on the ESF instructors as they make their way from Groisy to the summit of the Col des Glières.

Tour de France Men: Wednesday 17 July 2024

A few weeks later, the France Montagnes x ESF team will be taking part in the Tour de France for Men! It's in the heart of the Southern Alps, on the 17th stage of the Tour from Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux to the resort of SuperDévoluy, that the instructors will first set off on the ascent of the Col du Noyer, before completing the stage's route to the finish in SuperDévoluy.

Once again, it's a chance to cheer on the instructors while waiting for the Tour caravan and the pros to pass by. We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday 17 July, between Saint-Bonnet-en-Champsaur and SuperDévoluy!

The Tour de France takes place this year between 26 June (start from Florence in Italy) and 21 July (finish in Nice, exceptionally outside Paris due to the Olympic Games).

There are no fewer than 7 mountain stages, so keep your eyes peeled... On site or behind your TV, will you be able to spot our TIFO (large 40x40 metre canvas) ‘La Montagne, ça vous gagne’? It will be set up close to the route of all the mountain stages!

Tour de France Women: Sunday 18 August 2024

The France Montagnes x ESF operation will be taking to the road for the Tour one last time in Isère, on Sunday 18 August, during the final stage of the Tour de France for Women, at Alpe d'Huez.

With a peloton made up mainly of ESF women instructors, it will climb the 21 emblematic bends that link Bourg-d'Oisans to the Alpe d'Huez resort. Once again, we're counting on you to support the instructors on their demanding ascent of this legendary route!

Alpe d'Huez will then play host to the final finish of the Tour de France Femmes 2024, bringing to a close a week-long course of 8 stages, the first 4 of which will have taken place in the Netherlands (stages 1, 2 and 3) and Belgium (stage 4).

Many thanks to France Montagnes' partners

The instructors taking part in these different stages of the Critérium du Dauphiné or the Tour de France for Men and Women will be lucky enough to be equipped for the occasion thanks to our partners.

Tour de France - France Montagnes x ESF - Santini

Once again this year, the peloton will be wearing very modern clothing produced in collaboration with the equipment manufacturer SANTINI, official partner of the Tour de France, and which will of course be in the colours of France Montagnes and the ESF.

Participants in the 3 stages mentioned above will have the chance to wear Santini jerseys and shorts.
